SAETÍA
The island of "Saetia" in western
Cuba and off the coast of Santiago de Cuba is truly an unusual
place. Over 40 years ago antelopes, zebras, deers and other
animals of African origin were brought to this remote island
as a type of experiment. Since then these animals have multiplied
significantly and provide an oasis of Africa right here in Cuba.
This 42 km 2 island boasts full hotel accommodations, safari
expeditions, camp out's and hunting facilities. Vegetation is
abundant and microclimates have created grassy planes and desert
scenery. Rental of 4x4 vehicles is available for visiting tourists.
